VBIT-4 is a new inhibitor of the oligomerization of VDAC proteins of the outer mitochondrial membrane preventing the development of oxidative stress, mitochondrial dysfunction, and cell death in various pathologies. However, as a VDAC inhibitor, VBIT-4 may itself cause mitochondrial dysfunction in healthy cells. The article examines the effect of VBIT-4 on the functional activity of rat liver mitochondria and cell cultures.

The study was conducted on the basis of the Comprehensive Center of Social Services for the Population of the Birsk District and the City of Birsk of the Republic of Bashkortostan and Polyclinic № 1 of Ufa, total sample was 60 respondents aged 60-80 years. The analysis of the results revealed that the use of the art therapy program with the gradual enrichment and complication of art therapy classes stimulates new life orientations, the awareness of the individual of the presence of other psychological characteristics that allow the subject to function successfully in real life.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFDescribed in the article is a clinical case report regarding revascularization of the entire arterial bed of the lower extremity in a male patient presenting with multifocal atherosclerosis, stenoses of the arteries of the iliofemoral segment, occlusions of the superficial femoral artery, popliteal artery and arteries of the crus. Clinically, the patient was diagnosed as having critical ischaemia of the lower limb with wet necrosis of the toes. The patient simultaneously underwent semiclosed loop endarterectomy from the arteries of the femoropopliteal segment with the help of the Vollmar rings, autovenous popliteal-tibial prosthetic repair, as well as exarticulation of the toes.
