This comprehensive scientific review provides an in-depth analysis of both the natural compounds, pyrethrins, and their synthetic derivatives, pyrethroids, focusing on their classification, biosynthesis, mechanism of action, general and pharmaceutical uses, as well as their toxicity and environmental impact. Pyrethrins, derived from certain plant species, have long been recognized for their potent insecticidal properties. The review begins by examining the classification of pyrethrins and pyrethroids, elucidating their structural characteristics and unique features within the field of natural and synthetic compounds.

The morphology, structure, composition, and conduction electron properties of quasi-spherical tin nanocrystals (NCs) of 2.5 nm average diameter, with unstrained, bulk-like α-Sn diamond cubic structure, observed in dark cubic boron nitride (cBN) crystallites, were determined by correlated analytical high-resolution scanning transmission electron microscopy and multifrequency electron spin resonance (ESR) investigations. The narrow Lorentzian ESR line with = 2.

Several types of metal-free ceramics have been developed to meet the patients demand for natural looking appearance restorations. Owing to their biocompatibility and good mechanical properties zirconia has been successfully used in recent years as a dental biomaterial. Due to its high opacity zirconia cores are generally covered with ceramic veneers that provide a more natural appearance but have frequent incidence of chipping.

The synthesis of Cu nanoparticles on different supports and their activity in controlled living radical polymerization processes is presented. The type of support influences the final size of the copper nanoparticles as well as their adhesion to the support. These aspects have a direct influence on the characteristics of the polymers obtained.

This study presents a novel method for the oxidative polymerization of aniline (ANI) by employing fullerene C60/cadmium selenide (CdSe) quantum dots, as promoting agent of the polymerization system. The polymerization initiation mechanism is based on the difference between the HOMO-LUMO energy levels of the components which permits the formation of a continuous donor-acceptor exchange. Both the polymerization reaction evolution and the molecular weights of the obtained polymers have been characterized.
