Proinflammatory TREM1 receptors expressed on myeloid-derived cells have recently been recognized as a new oncogenic target in cancer, including gliomas. They are established chemotherapeutic targets in neurodegenerative Parkinson's and Alzheimer's diseases, and they also contribute to stroke and sepsis severities. TREM1 activation requires the TREM1/DAP12 interaction for receptor clustering and signal transduction coordinated by TREM1 ligands.

(1) Study Aim: Adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) face a multitude of chronic health risks related to obesity, including diabetes and heart disease. Day adult service programs offer unique opportunities for improving and monitoring the health of this vulnerable group. To promote exercise and healthy eating habits among adults with IDD, the Eat and Exercise to Win Program (EE-2-Win) was offered weekly at two locations over 8-9 months.

A surgical window-of-opportunity trial ( NCT03107780 ) was conducted on 21 patients to determine achievable drug concentrations within tumor tissue and examine mechanisms of response and resistance. Both 120 mg and 240 mg daily dosing achieved a pharmacodynamic impact.
