[Anti-arbovirus antibodies positive serum screening in population of Saratov].

Seroepidemiological studies revealed the existence of a population stratum immune to West Nile and Sindbis viruses in the Saratov region. Screening of 218 sera showed that the stratum immune to arboviruses increased from 1998 to 2000. The incidence of antibodies to Batai and Sindbis viruses was the highest.

[Prevention of hemorrhage in women with retroperitoneal pelvic tumors by embolization of the internal iliac arteries].

Presents data on the clinical course and surgical treatment of 26 patients with retroperitoneal tumors and hemangiomas of the pelvis. The diagnosis was confirmed by x-ray, echographic, computer tomographic, and angiographic data on pelvic vessels. To prevent bleedings, embolization of the internal iliac arteries and their branches as far as the 3-4th order was carried out in 9 patients with angiodysplasias and 4 with retroperitoneal pelvic tumors.

The article contains data on the norming principles for and the biologic action of polymineralic potassium dusts. The analysis and comparison of experimental and clinical data presented potassium ore as a substance characterized by low toxicity and weak fibrogenic action. In animal studies, the general toxic action of potassium aerosols exceeded the fibrogenic effects.
