Skin injury response to near-infrared (NIR) laser radiation between the minimum visible lesion threshold and ablation onset is not well understood. This study utilizes a 1070-nm diode-pumped Yb-fiber laser to explore the response of excised porcine skin to high-energy exposures in the suprathreshold injury region without inducing ablation. Concurrent high-speed videography is employed to determine a dichotomous response for three progressive damage categories: observable surface distortion, surface bubble formation due to contained intracutaneous water vaporization, and surface bubble rupture during exposure.

Objective: To investigate the clinical therapeutic effect of biological information infrared liver therapeutic apparatus (BILT) combined with praziquantel in the treatment of patients with chronic schistosomiasis.
Methods: A case-control study was conducted. A total of 142 chronic schistosomiasis patients were divided into an experimental group (BILT combined with praziquantel) with 64 cases and a control group (routine treatment with praziquantel alone) with 78 cases on the basis of the age, gender, disease duration and liver function as paired condition.
By incorporating even the basic elements of a more environmentally friendly, "green"construction and design in an MRI setting can create a safer, more pleasant space for the patients and staff, better images, and operational cost savings. Using building systems that have reduced amounts of steel can decrease construction time, increase thermal insulation, and reduce the weight of the structure meaning less energy required to transport and install. HVAC systems and lighting design can also play a major role in creating a "green"MRI suite.

The authors conducted a study to investigate the variability of measurement of the proximal articular set angle. The proximal articular set angle as measured radiographically was compared with the proximal articular set angle as measured intraoperatively. Three groups of evaluators--attending physicians, residents, and third-year podiatric medical students--measured the proximal articular set angle radiographically.
