Background: In March 2022, a concerning rise in cases of unexplained pediatric hepatitis was reported in multiple countries. Cases were defined as acute hepatitis with serum transaminases >500 U/L (aspartate transaminase [AST] or alanine transaminase [ALT]) in children aged 16 years or younger. We explored a simple federated data analytics method to search for evidence of unreported cases using routinely held data.

This study aims to evaluate how hepatic impairment affects hematological toxicity and progression-free survival (PFS) of palbociclib in advanced hormone receptor-positive/human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative breast cancer, using the National Cancer Institute scoring system, in a large real-world dataset. This multicenter retrospective observational study included female patients treated with palbociclib between August 2017 and February 2024.

Serological assays are excellent for sensitive detection of primary schistosome infections and for schistosomiasis surveillance in near- and post-elimination settings. To develop accurate assay formats, it is necessary to identify defined antibody targets with low cross-reactivity and potential for standardized production.

Design: Prospective, single-arm (uncontrolled), single-institution clinical feasibility study.
Animals: Fifty client-owned dogs with severe degenerative MR operated over a 28-month period.
Objective: To study information needs after receiving abnormal amyloid-PET results, and how individual characteristics moderate effects of different communication strategies on information recall.
Methods: In an online video-vignette experiment, seven vignettes each depicted a consultation of a physician sharing abnormal amyloid-PET results with a patient with Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI), using different communication strategies. Healthy individuals (N = 1017; age 64 ± 8, 808(79 %) female), instructed to imagine themselves as the video-patient, viewed a randomly-assigned vignette and completed questionnaires to assess information needs and test moderation effects of gender, age, care-partner experience, health literacy, and coping.
