Prevalence and associated risk factors of burnout amongst veterinary students in Ghana.

This study was designed as a cross-sectional study to find out the prevalence and associated risk factors of burnout among veterinary students at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi-Ghana. A total of 74 veterinary students served as the respondents and were given online questionnaires which comprised questions on emotional exhaustion (EE), depersonalisation (DP) and reduced personal accomplishment (RPA). Data obtained were analysed using descriptive statistics, Chi-square test and regression analysis.

Knowledge and Perception of Veterinary Students in Ghana on Telemedicine.

This study aimed at assessing the knowledge base and perception of telemedicine among veterinary students in Ghana.  It involved a cross sectional survey and online structured questionnaires were administered to 114 veterinary students to access their knowledge of telemedicine and the perceived utilisation, benefits, complexity and disadvantages of telemedicine. Descriptive statistics analysis was performed on the data collected using SPSS version 20 and Pearson Chi-square test was used to determine the significant association between categorical variables which were grouped.

Effect of carotid endarterectomy on the ocular circulation and on ocular symptoms unrelated to emboli.

Objective: To evaluate haemodynamic changes in the ophthalmic artery and the retina following carotid endarterectomy and their effect on the pathophysiology of the eye.

Design: Prospective study.

Method: Twenty-two consecutive patients with severe carotid stenosis underwent 23 carotid endarterectomies and one subclavian-carotid bypass.

Current practice of cataract extraction and anaesthesia.

A questionnaire regarding preferred methods of cataract extraction and anaesthesia was sent to 456 consultant ophthalmologists in England and Wales. Replies were received from 86% (n = 392), 83% (n = 380) having completed the questionnaire in full. The most frequently employed surgical approach was non-automated extracapsular cataract extraction.
