Mitochondrial Genomes of Mammals from the Brazilian Cerrado and Phylogenetic Considerations for the Orders Artiodactyla, Carnivora, and Chiroptera (Chordata: Mammalia).

We assembled and annotated the complete mitochondrial genomes of (hoary fox), (bush dog), (white-lipped peccary), and (Brazilian free-tailed bat). The mitogenomes exhibited typical vertebrate structures, containing 13 protein-coding genes, 22 tRNA genes, 2 ribosomal RNA genes, and a D-loop region. Phylogenetic reconstruction using the 13 protein-coding genes revealed robust relationships among species within Carnivora, Chiroptera, and Artiodactyla, corroborating previous studies.

Interobserver agreement in Reception and Risk Stratification in Obstetrics implementation.

Objectives: to analyze interobserver agreement in the Reception and Risk Stratification in Obstetrics protocol implementation.

Methods: a cross-sectional study carried out during Reception and Risk Stratification in Obstetrics implementation, conducted in a tertiary hospital in southern Brazil with 891 participants in January 2020. Descriptive and interobserver agreement analysis was carried out using the Kappa coefficient in the risk stratification assigned by the triage nurse and reviewed by the researcher.

Mechanical Properties of Ultra-High-Performance Concrete with Steel and PVA Fibers.

Ultra-high-performance concrete (UHPC) has gained worldwide popularity due to its high mechanical performance. This research studied the influence of adding a mixture of two fibers (steel and PVA) on the compressive strength, modulus of elasticity, and flexural tensile strength of UHPC. The mixtures were prepared by adding steel fibers and PVA fibers using a standard procedure defined in the research, which is the time to mix the dry materials and the time to mix the admixture and water.

LXR regulation of adipose tissue inflammation during obesity is associated with dysregulated macrophage function.

Objective: Liver X receptors (LXRs) play essential roles in cholesterol homeostasis and immune response. In obesity, elevated cholesterol levels trigger proinflammatory responses; however, the specific contributions of LXRs to adipose tissue (AT) macrophage (ATM) phenotype and metabolic programming are not fully understood. In this study, we determine the role of LXR isoforms in diet-induced obesity AT inflammation and insulin resistance.

LIVING DONOR LIVER TRANSPLANT FOR INTRAHEPATIC CHOLANGIOCARCINOMA. AN INITIAL BRAZILIAN EXPERIENCE.

Background: Intrahepatic cholangiocarcinoma (iCCA) was considered a contraindication for liver transplantation. However, recent studies have shown that highly selected cases of patients with a good response to neoadjuvant therapy may achieve acceptable survival rates when following liver transplantation.

Aims: To present two cases of patients with iCCA, without extrahepatic disease, who underwent living donor liver transplantation after receiving neoadjuvant chemotherapy.
