Capillary zone electrophoresis (CZE) is gaining attention in the field of single-cell proteomics for its ultra-low-flow and high-resolution separation abilities. Even more sample-limited yet rich in biological information are phosphoproteomics experiments, as the phosphoproteome composes only a fraction of the whole cellular proteome. Rapid analysis, high sensitivity, and maximization of sample utilization are paramount for single-cell analysis.

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to determine the natural history of the photoreceptor disease in a large group of pediatric patients with RHD12-associated Leber congenital amaurosis (RDH12-LCA), to estimate the changes expected over the duration of a clinical trial, and to define the relationship between the photoreceptor loss and visual dysfunction.

Methods: Forty-six patients representing 36 families were included. The great majority of patients were under the age of 18 years.

Wnt proteins are hydrophobic glycoproteins that are nevertheless capable of long-range signaling. We found that Wnt7a is secreted long distance on the surface of extracellular vesicles (EVs) following muscle injury. We defined a signal peptide region in Wnts required for secretion on EVs, termed exosome-binding peptide (EBP).

The success rate of assisted reproductive techniques in the livestock production can be optimized by improving the quality of the semen sample by selecting only the good quality sperm from the ejaculate. Microfluidic technology has been studied for sperm sorting mainly in human ejaculates but has not been studied for boar sperm. Spermatozoa have been proven to be highly sensitive to different microplastics, but the potential toxic effects of the materials used to set up microfluidic systems have not been studied.
