Background: Dengue is a global problem mainly in the tropics. Meticulous clinical management of cases has reduced the death rate significantly, but large numbers of people still succumb to severe complications of the infection. Presence of myocarditis is often overlooked leading to a poor outcome.

- A study divided patients into 'pre-MP' and 'MP' periods, using a clinical severity score to evaluate outcomes; 62 patients received MP treatment while 10 patients without MP were also assessed.
- Results showed a significant reduction in the mortality rate from 21.8% in the pre-MP group to 10.7% in the MP group, suggesting that early administration of MP can be beneficial, particularly for severe cases without major comorbid
