We aimed to characterize the effects of intermittently restricted feeding on energy balance and glucose tolerance in female mice.
Methods: Female C57BL/6J mice were fed a high-fat, high-sucrose diet and intermittently food restricted to 60% of control littermates' ad libitum intake, starting at weaning and until week 19.
Objective: Food insecurity (FI) is associated with poor metabolic health. It is assumed that energy intake and diet quality underlie this association. We tested the hypothesis that dietary factors (quantity and quality) mediate the association of FI with excess weight, waist circumference and glycemic control [glycohemoglobin (A1C)].

The Ga-labeled radiopharmaceutical was designed to specifically bind to the cholecystokinin receptor (CCK2R). This receptor, naturally present in healthy tissues such as the stomach, is a biomarker for numerous tumors when overexpressed.
