Background: Microsatellite instability high (MSI-H) and/or mismatch repair deficient (dMMR) status is the strongest predictive factor for immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) benefit in patients with metastatic gastroesophageal cancer (mGC). Primary resistance to ICIs is a relevant issue, but prognostic and predictive factors are lacking.

Materials And Methods: In this multinational, retrospective cohort of patients with MSI-H/dMMR mGC treated with ICIs without chemotherapy we collected baseline laboratory values to establish the prognostic nutritional index (PNI).

Article Synopsis
  • Male cancer patients undergoing antineoplastic therapy often experience hypogonadism, which negatively affects their quality of life, though its causes related to cancer treatment are not well understood.
  • A systematic review identified 28 studies that indicated certain drugs, like anti-angiogenic agents and platinum salts, contribute to hypogonadism, with immune checkpoint inhibitors causing secondary hypogonadism due to immune reactions.
  • The findings highlight the need for regular evaluation of hormonal levels in at-risk patients before and during treatment to better manage this condition.

Background: Enteral nutrition is necessary when nutritional status is poor and oral intake is insufficient or impossible. Although it has been suspected to reduce spontaneous oral feeding, no study has formally assessed the influence of enteral nutrition on pediatric oral intake. The present study aimed to evaluate variation in oral feeding intake after enteral nutrition initiation, and to identify factors influencing oral feeding.

Background: Advanced triple-negative breast cancer (aTNBC) has a poor prognosis; thus, there is a need to identify novel biomarkers to guide future research and improve clinical outcomes.

Objectives: We tested the prognostic ability of an emerging, complete blood count (CBC)-based inflammatory biomarker, the pan-immune-inflammation value (PIV), in patients with aTNBC treated with first-line, platinum-based chemotherapy.

Design: This was a retrospective, monocentric, observational study.

DUNE is a dual-site experiment for long-baseline neutrino oscillation studies, neutrino astrophysics and nucleon decay searches. ProtoDUNE Dual Phase (DP) is a 6   6   6 m liquid argon time-projection-chamber (LArTPC) that recorded cosmic-muon data at the CERN Neutrino Platform in 2019-2020 as a prototype of the DUNE Far Detector. Charged particles propagating through the LArTPC produce ionization and scintillation light.
