Sandstone-hosted uranium is mined in the Sahel regions of Niger. The Teloua aquifer is located beneath the ore-processing facilities of one such former mine, COMINAK. The pores of the sandstone bedrock are partially filled by tosudite, a clay with sorption capacities.

Objective: In 2019 the Dutch national prevention of preterm birth (PTB) protocol was adjusted to withhold tocolysis for threatened PTB above 30 weeks of gestation due to insufficient evidence regarding its effectiveness on improving perinatal outcomes. The aim of this study is to evaluate neonatal outcomes of children born in the Netherlands between 30 and 32 weeks of gestation before and after the national protocol change.
Study Design: We performed a nationwide retrospective cohort study comparing outcomes of births in the years 2018 (tocolysis) and 2020 (no tocolysis).
Background: Obstetric interventions can have unexpected long-term effects on child development. However, evaluation of these outcomes is not standard in current research.
Objectives: To give an overview of long-term follow-up studies after randomised controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating interventions to prevent preterm birth in asymptomatic pregnancies.
Hydrogels are three-dimensional, highly tunable material systems that can match the properties of extracellular matrices. In addition to being widely used to grow and modulate cell behavior, hydrogels can be made conductive to further modulate electrically active cells, such as neurons, and even incorporated into multielectrode arrays to interface with tissues. To enable conductive hydrogels, graphene flakes can be mechanically suspended into a hydrogel precursor.

In contrast with conventional cell cultures, MPSs often provide physiological mechanical cues to cells, include fluid flow and can be interlinked (hence, they are often referred to as microfluidic tissue chips or organs-on-chips). Here, by means of examples of MPSs of the vascular system, intestine, brain and heart, we advocate for the development of standards that allow for comparisons of quantitative physiological features in MPSs and humans.
