Post-transplant lymphoproliferative disorders (PTLD) are uncommon complications that occur in patients who have received solid organ transplants and are linked to weakened immune systems.
Despite routine annual influenza vaccinations for transplant patients, no prior cases have shown the vaccine to induce PTLD.
A specific case is reported of a 49-year-old female kidney transplant recipient who developed a rare type of PTLD the day after receiving the flu vaccine, which initially manifested as subcutaneous lesions but was found to involve multiple organs through imaging studies.
