The use of natural antioxidants as substitutes for traditional synthetic stabilizers has been investigated for the stabilization of biobased and biodegradable polymers, with the aim of designing fully biobased plastic formulations. This study focused on the thermo- and photostabilization of poly(lactic acid) (PLA) using vegetal polyphenol extracts as biosourced antioxidants. The polyphenols were extracted by microwave-assisted extraction from the valorization of vegetal waste, and their potential as antioxidant additives was evaluated (e.

Ancient fluvial deposits typically display repetitive changes in their depositional architecture such as alternating intervals of coarse-grained highly amalgamated (HA), laterally-stacked, channel bodies, and finer-grained less amalgamated (LA), vertically-stacked, channels encased in floodplain deposits. Such patterns are usually ascribed to slower, respectively higher, rates of base level rise (accommodation). However, "upstream" factors such as water discharge and sediment flux also play a potential role in determining stratigraphic architecture, yet this possibility has never been tested despite the recent advances in the field of palaeohydraulic reconstructions from fluvial accumulations.

Despite the incorporation of trastuzumab biosimilars (to treat HER2-positive breast cancer) in clinical practice guidelines, gaps remain such as patient and clinician education. We hosted a webinar comprised of a panel of biosimilars experts, oncologists, pharmacist, infusion nurse, and a patient advocate. The outcomes of the webinar include audience responses to pre- and post-webinar questionnaires, educational benefits, real-time opportunities to ask questions, and a recording.

Optical imaging has become a widely used technique and is still under development for clinical diagnostics and treatment applications. For further development of the field, researchers have put much effort into the development of inorganic nanoparticles (NPs) as imaging probes. In this trend, our laboratory developed ZnGaOCr (ZGO) nanoparticles, which can emit a bright persistent luminescence signal through the tissue transparency window for dozens of minutes and can be activated with visible irradiation.

The aliphatic heterocycles piperidine and morpholine are core structures of well-known antifungals such as fenpropidin and fenpropimorph, commonly used as agrofungicides, and the related morpholine amorolfine is approved for the treatment of dermal mycoses in humans. Inspired by these lead structures, we describe here the synthesis and biological evaluation of 4-aminopiperidines as a novel chemotype of antifungals with remarkable antifungal activity. A library of more than 30 4-aminopiperidines was synthesized, starting from -substituted 4-piperidone derivatives by reductive amination with appropriate amines using sodium triacetoxyborohydride.
