  • Findings showed higher protection motivation is linked to increased attention to instructions, perceived threats, responsibility, self-efficacy, and effectiveness of adhering to guidelines, suggesting ways to improve regulation and user compliance for safer use.

Background: The role of pharmacists in tobacco cessation has grown substantially in recent years, now including the ability to prescribe medications in many states. Although pharmacists can fill a gap in care by helping patients quit, other clinicians' perceptions regarding referring patients to pharmacists for these services have not been described.

Objective: To characterize clinicians' current referral patterns to pharmacists for tobacco cessation services, intention to refer in the future, and perceived barriers to and facilitators of referrals.

Objective: To examine associations of vibration sensitivity and pressure pain sensitivity with knee osteoarthritis (OA) outcomes across sex and race, which may relate to known sex and race disparities in clinical outcomes.

Design: Data were from the 2013-2015 visit of the Johnston County Osteoarthritis Project. Exposures were vibration perception threshold (VPT) measured at the bilateral medial femoral condyle (MFC) and first metatarsophalangeal joint (MTP), and pressure pain threshold (PPT) measured at the bilateral upper trapezius.

Background: The American Public Health Association defines a community health worker (CHW) as "a trusted member of and/or has an unusually close understanding of the community served." Both CHWs and pharmacists have shown they are well-equipped to produce positive outcomes in chronic disease management, but there is still a gap in the literature regarding the CHW-pharmacist relationship.

Objective: The objective of this study was to assess and describe pharmacist perceptions and experiences with CHWs.
