Juvenile dermatomyositis is a rare autoimmune myopathy of childhood, associated with systemic vasculopathy, primarily affecting the capillaries. Panniculitis is seen histologically in about 10% of patients with dermatomyositis; however, its clinical presentation is rare, with only 30 cases presented in the literature to date. The histopathology overlaps with other inflammatory disease states, and is almost identical to the panniculitis seen in lupus erythematous panniculitis.

A retrospective review of side effects and complications of treatment in 522 patients with endometrial cancer managed in a gyneoncology unit was conducted. This study evaluated 517 patients who underwent total abdominal hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy (TAH BSO). Lymphadendectomy or lymph node sampling was performed with the primary surgery in 264 and 41 cases, respectively.

A continuous bovine kidney cell line, LF-BK, arose from primary bovine calf kidney cells that survived infection with a temperature-sensitive mutant of foot-and-mouth disease virus. No virus was recovered after the first passage. Cells of Passage 48 were inoculated into two steers which remained healthy and did not develop neutralizing antibodies to the virus.
