Objectives: An update of the first European Society of Musculoskeletal Radiology (ESSR) consensus on soft tissue tumor imaging in 2015 became necessary due to technical advancements, further insights into specific entities, and the revised WHO classification (2020) and AJCC staging system (2017). The third part of the revised guidelines covers algorithms and techniques beyond initial imaging: (1) Imaging after neoadjuvant therapy in soft tissue sarcoma, (2) sarcoma surveillance, and (3) special aspects, including surveillance of non-malignant entities and the role of interventional radiology.
Materials And Methods: A validated Delphi method based on peer-reviewed literature was used to derive consensus among a panel of 46 specialized musculoskeletal radiologists from 12 European countries.
Importance: The management of posterior cruciate ligament (PCL) injuries in children is complex and varies depending on the specific nature of the injury. Avulsions of the PCL can often be addressed with proximal or distal repair, while intra-substance tears and cases with persistent instability generally require more extensive reconstruction. Despite the prevalence of such cases, the literature is predominantly composed of case reports, indicating a lack of comprehensive research in this area.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFObjective: To investigate the association between sarcopenia, as appraised with CT-derived muscle metrics, and cardiovascular status, as assessed via coronary CT angiography (CCTA) using the Coronary Artery Disease-Reporting and Data System (CAD-RADS) and with pericoronary adipose tissue (pCAT) metrics.
Methods: A retrospective observational study conducted on patients who underwent CCTA. The cross-sectional area (CSA) and attenuation values of the paravertebral muscles at the T8 level and the pectoralis major muscles at the T6 level were measured.
Purpose: The aim of this study was to systematically review the use of automated detection systems for identifying bone lesions based on CT and MRI, focusing on advancements in artificial intelligence (AI) applications.
Materials And Methods: A literature search was conducted on PubMed and MEDLINE. Data were extracted and grouped into three main categories, namely baseline study characteristics, model validation strategies, and the type of AI algorithms.
Purpose: Our objective was to analysis the barycentremetry, obtained from the external envelope reconstruction of biplanar radiographs, in adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (AIS) and to determine whether assessing would help predict the distinction between progressive and stable AIS at the early stage.
Methods: A retrospective study with a multicentre cohort of 205 AIS was conducted. All AIS underwent a biplanar X-ray between 2013 and 2020.
