Trajectories of psychological distress for Australian fathers parenting a child on the autism spectrum: Evidence from early childhood to adolescence.

This study explores the mental health journey of fathers with children on the autism spectrum. Little is known about mental health over time for these fathers. This research spans six-timepoints from when children were aged 4 to 14 years, to track fathers' mental health.

A chemical modification of a peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor pan agonist produced a shift to a new dual alpha/gamma partial agonist endowed with mitochondrial pyruvate carrier inhibition and antidiabetic properties.

New analogs of the PPAR pan agonist AL29-26 encompassed ligand (S)-7 showing potent activation of PPARα and -γ subtypes as a partial agonist. In vitro experiments and docking studies in the presence of PPAR antagonists were performed to help interpretation of biological data and investigate the main interactions at the binding sites. Further in vitro experiments showed that (S)-7 induced anti-steatotic effects and enhancement of the glucose uptake.

VitalSeer: The development of a contactless sensing technology based on a user-centric data-driven clinical approach.

The COVID-19 pandemic presented challenges to the healthcare system while catalyzing the adoption of virtual care. The need for remote assessment and real-time monitoring of physiological vital signs has driven towards a need for virtual care solutions. This paper presents the outcome of a multidisciplinary collaboration to ensure clinical usability of a remote contactless sensing technology, VitalSeer, and to help close gaps between emerging technologies and clinical practice.

A novel technique of ultrasound-guided lateral cutaneous branch of the iliohypogastric nerve block: A cadaveric study.

Background: The lateral cutaneous branch of the iliohypogastric nerve (LCBIN) block combined with the lateral femoral cutaneous, superior cluneal and subcostal nerve blocks has been shown to provide complete anaesthetic coverage for the incisions used for hip arthroplasty. Successful ultrasound-guided selective nerve blocks have been described for these nerves, except for the LCBIN. The objective of this cadaveric study was to determine the position of the LCBIN in order to provide the anatomical basis for an ultrasound-guided nerve block approach.

Some elements for a history of the dynamical systems theory.

Writing a history of a scientific theory is always difficult because it requires to focus on some key contributors and to "reconstruct" some supposed influences. In the 1970s, a new way of performing science under the name "chaos" emerged, combining the mathematics from the nonlinear dynamical systems theory and numerical simulations. To provide a direct testimony of how contributors can be influenced by other scientists or works, we here collected some writings about the early times of a few contributors to chaos theory.
