Transitions from Hospital‐to‐Home for Dementia with Multimorbidity: A Realist Review Protocol with Preliminary Findings.

Background: Older adults with dementia live with an average of four additional long‐term conditions (multimorbidity), and experience frequent transitions between fragmented care settings. This can compromise their safety due to an increased risk of miscommunication, errors, and delays in receiving appropriate treatment. Unsafe transitions are also associated with increases in mortality, morbidity, and preventable readmissions.

Suitability of the -5 social anxiety disorder severity scale for autistic adults.

Mental health measures used with autistic adults are often only evaluated for use with non-autistic adults, which may cause inaccurate measurement. This is important when measuring social anxiety disorder as some features overlap with social characteristics of autism. This study evaluated one self-report questionnaire measure of social anxiety disorder, the Severity Measure for Social Anxiety Disorder.

Feasibility and acceptability of virtual programs for people with dementia and their caregivers.

Objective: To assess the feasibility and acceptability of the Oshawa Senior Community Centres (OSCC55 +) virtual programs (VP) in addressing the needs for social connection and interaction for people with dementia (PWD) and their informal caregivers (ICG).

Background: During the pandemic, PWD faced increased loneliness and reduced social interaction due to a loss of community programs. The OSCC55 + developed VPs to combat social isolation and provide respite for ICG.

Within Clinic Reliability and Usability of a Voice-Based Amazon Alexa Administration of the General Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD 7).

This is the second in a series of studies assessing the usability and reliability of a novel voice-based delivery system of mental health screening assessments. The previous study demonstrated the reliability and patient preference of a voice-based format of the Patient Health Questionnaire 9 (PHQ 9) for measuring major depression compared to a traditional paper format. Through this study, we further examined the Amazon Alexa tool in the administration of the General Anxiety Disorder 7 (GAD 7).
