Sleep Problems Before and During the COVID-19 Pandemic in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, Down Syndrome, and Typical Development.

Sleep problems are common in children and adolescents, particularly those with Neurodevelopmental Disorders. With the changes in daily habits resulting from the COVID-19 pandemic, we have analyzed sleep characteristics, during social isolation, in Brazilian children and adolescents aged between 4 and 12 years with Autism Spectrum Disorder (N = 267), Down Syndrome (N = 74), and typical development (N = 312). The ASD group presented with worse indicators of sleep habits in the Children's Sleep Habits Questionnaire (CSHQ-BR) and fell asleep later during the pandemic.

A retrospective cohort study was conducted to evaluate the bundle of techniques developed by the multidisciplinary team to minimize infections in an adult intensive care unit over a 22-year span. Forced-Air Warming in Patients Undergoing Endovascular Procedures: Comparison between 2 Thermal Blanket Models.

Background: The purpose of this study was to compare the efficiency between 2 thermal blanket models: the upper blanket and the underbody blanket in patient heating and hypothermia prevention during endovascular surgery.

Methods: Fifty patients, American Society of Anesthesiologists physical status 2-4, receiving endovascular surgery repair of infrarenal abdominal aortic aneurysm or lower limb angioplasty by endovascular technique were studied. Primary outcome was to determine which forced-air blanket is more warming effective during the surgeries.

Influence of pancreas transplantation alone on native renal function.

Pancreas transplantation alone (PTA) has become an accepted treatment of nonuremic diabetic patients, when the risks of secondary complications of diabetes mellitus are greater than those of the surgical procedure and the posttransplant immunosuppression. As a decrease in native renal function is expected, we followed this parameter among patients who underwent PTA. From January 1997 through January 2005, we performed 69 PTA in 66 patients.
