Chromothripsis in lipoblastoma: second reported case with complex PLAG1 rearrangement.

Lipoblastomas (LPBs) are rare benign neoplasms derived from embryonal adipose that occur predominantly in childhood. LPBs typically present with numeric or structural rearrangements of chromosome 8, the majority of which involve the pleomorphic adenoma gene 1 (PLAG1) proto-oncogene on chromosome 8q12. Here, we report on a LPB case on which showed evidence of chromothripsis.

Trade and Resource Sustainability with Asset Markets.

Unlabelled: Trade changes incentives to protect an open-access natural resource independently of its effect on the resource price. General equilibrium linkages cause resource policy to affect the price of privately owned assets regardless of whether they are used in the resource sector. In the closed economy, the asset market in our overlapping generations setting creates incentives for currently living agents to protect the natural resource.

Catalytic Carbonyl-Olefin Metathesis of Aliphatic Ketones: Iron(III) Homo-Dimers as Lewis Acidic Superelectrophiles.

Catalytic carbonyl-olefin metathesis reactions have recently been developed as a powerful tool for carbon-carbon bond formation. However, currently available synthetic protocols rely exclusively on aryl ketone substrates while the corresponding aliphatic analogs remain elusive. We herein report the development of Lewis acid-catalyzed carbonyl-olefin ring-closing metathesis reactions for aliphatic ketones.

QUALITY OF LIFE OF PEOPLE LIVING WITH HIV: IDENTIFICATION OF THE DETERMINANTS.

The high prevalence rate of HIV worldwide, including the Republic of Kazakhstan (the RK), in large cities in particular, underlies the tremendous significance of this medical condition for society, economy, demography and healthcare. The objective of this study was to identify the most important determinants of quality of life (QL) of people living with HIV in a large city. The study was carried out in 3 stages.

Health, Secondhand Smoke Exposure, and Smoking Behavior Impacts of No-Smoking Policies in Public Housing, Colorado, 2014-2015.

Introduction: Exposure to secondhand smoke is problematic for residents living in multiunit housing, as the smoke migrates through shared ventilation systems, unsealed cracks, and door spaces. The objective of our research was to assess resident exposure to secondhand smoke, support for no-smoking policies, and the health impacts of no-smoking policies in multiunit housing.

Methods: Surveys of 312 heads of households who resided in 1 of 3 multiunit buildings managed by a Colorado public housing authority were administered before and after implementation of a no-smoking policy that prohibited smoking in all resident apartments and all indoor common areas.
