Influenza A viruses (IAV) are zoonotic pathogens that can cause significant illness in wild and domestic animals, and humans. IAV can infect a broad range of avian and mammalian species, depending on subtype, and avian IAV can be moved over relatively long distances by migratory birds. The first studies of radiation exposure in old mines of Kryvyi Rih Iron Ore Basin (Kryvbas) began relatively recently, about 20 years ago. The results of these studies have shown that the problem of radon is present in the major part of the Basin mines. Here, we report the complete genome sequence of an African swine fever (ASF) virus (ASFV/Kyiv/2016/131) isolated from the spleen of a domestic pig in Ukraine with a lethal case of African swine fever.
