Article Synopsis
  • The study focused on influenza vaccination coverage among healthcare workers (HCWs) in public hospitals in Madrid during the 2021-2022 season, revealing an overall vaccination rate of 52.1%.
  • Individual factors positively linked to vaccine uptake included being female, older age, being born in Spain, holding a medical position, having multiple high-risk conditions, and previous vaccination history.
  • The research highlights that while some hospitals had varying impacts on vaccination rates, the overall coverage for HCWs was still suboptimal, suggesting a need for targeted strategies to increase vaccine uptake among specific groups.

Multiple different mathematical models have been developed to represent muscle force, to represent multiple muscles in the musculoskeletal system, and to represent muscle fatigue. However, incorporating these different models together to describe the behavior of a high-intensity exercise has not been well described. In this work, we adapted the three-compartment controller (3CCr) muscle fatigue model to be implemented with an inverse-dynamics based optimization algorithm for the muscle recruitment problem for 7 elbow muscles to model a benchmark case: elbow flexion/extension moments.

The purpose of this study was to analyze which 24-hour ambulatory blood pressure measurement (ABPM) parameters should be used on masked hypertension (MH) and white-coat hypertension (WCH) diagnoses in chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients. Non-dialysis CKD patients underwent 24-hour ABPM examination between 01/27/2004 and 02/16/2012. They were followed from the 24-hour ABPM to January/2014 in an observational study.
