Determination of Dicofol in Tea Using Surface-Enhanced Raman Spectroscopy Coupled Chemometrics.

Dicofol is a highly toxic residual pesticide in tea, which seriously endangers human health. A method for detecting dicofol in tea by combining stoichiometry with surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) technology was proposed in this study. AuNPs were prepared, and silver shells were grown on the surface of AuNPs to obtain core-shell Au@AgNPs.

INTERNAL LIMITING MEMBRANE PEELING IN PATIENTS UNDERGOING VITRECTOMY FOR TRACTIONAL RETINAL DETACHMENT SECONDARY TO DIABETIC RETIONPATHY.

Purpose: To assess the merits of internal limiting membrane (ILM) peeling during pars plana vitrectomy in subjects with a tractional retinal detachment secondary to proliferative diabetic retinopathy.

Methods: One hundred and ninety-one proliferative diabetic retinopathy subjects undergoing pars plana vitrectomy for the principal indication of tractional retinal detachment were enrolled into this randomized controlled trial. Study subjects were intraoperatively randomized into one of the following treatment groups: Cohort A patients underwent ILM peeling, whereas Cohort B patients did not undergo ILM peeling.

Salting is a technique used for preserving fish meat and allows obtaining added value products. Climate change has affected the geographical distributions of most species worldwide; in particular, insects of economic importance inhabiting tropical regions have been impacted. Current and future predictions of change in geographic distribution are frequently included in species distribution models (SDMs). The potential spatial distributions of the fruit fly Schiner, the main species of agricultural importance in guava crops, under current and possible future scenarios in Colombia were modeled, and the establishment risk was assessed for each guava-producing municipality in the country.

Effect of salting procedures on quality of hake fillets.

The influence of salting procedures on the proximate analysis, mechanical parameters, and color of hake () was investigated. Three procedures were comparatively evaluated: dry salting (DS), mixed salting (MS) and brining (BS). MS samples had the highest fat content, a considerable protein content and an equilibrium salt content similar to BS.
