Organizational Initiatives for the Recruitment, Retention and Advancement of Black Nurses: A Rapid Review.

Introduction: Black nurses are under-represented in the Canadian nursing workforce. A legacy of discrimination and systemic barriers reinforce the under-representation of Black nurses in the nursing workforce throughout the health system.

Objective: The objective of this study was to identify and describe organizational initiatives for the recruitment, retention and advancement of Black nurses in the healthcare system.

Genome Sequence of the Bacteriophage Eugenia.

We report the discovery and genome sequence of mycobacteriophage Eugenia, isolated from soil samples collected in Akron, OH. Eugenia is a double-stranded DNA virus with a genome size of 69,139 bp, featuring 104 predicted protein-encoding genes, with 32 of these genes assigned putative functions.

Goal-oriented practices in youth mental health and wellbeing settings: A scoping review and thematic analysis of empirical evidence.

Introduction: Goal-oriented practices involve practitioners working collaboratively with clients to identify, develop and focus on objectives for the therapeutic work. It has been suggested that the key mechanism underpinning goal-oriented practices with young people is the development of epistemic trust via the foundation of open communication, along with shared decision-making: including young people in decisions about their care. However, goal-oriented work in practice is variable in scope and content, with no research consensus on what it entails, the mechanisms of change and reported outcomes.

Barriers and enablers to implementing interprofessional primary care teams: a narrative review of the literature using the consolidated framework for implementation research.

Background: Interprofessional primary care teams have been introduced across Canada to improve access (e.g., a regular primary care provider, timely access to care when needed) to and quality of primary care.

Harm reduction strategies in acute care for people who use alcohol and/or drugs: A scoping review.

Background: People who use alcohol and/or drugs (PWUAD) are at higher risk of infectious disease, experiencing stigma, and recurrent hospitalization. Further, they have a higher likelihood of death once hospitalized when compared to people who do not use drugs and/or alcohol. The use of harm reduction strategies within acute care settings has shown promise in alleviating some of the harms experienced by PWUAD.
