Refractory metals have recently garnered significant interest as options for photonic applications due to their superior high-temperature stability and versatile optical properties. However, most previous studies only consider their room-temperature optical properties when analyzing these materials' behavior as optical components. Here, we demonstrate structural color pixels based on three refractory metals (Ru, Ta, and W) for high-temperature applications.

Introduction: The ketogenic diet (KD) is a high-fat, low-carbohydrate, and moderate-protein diet that has shown benefit as a treatment in neurologic disorders and may serve as a therapeutic option in individuals with psychiatric disorders.

Methods: A search was conducted using EBSCOhost and PubMed databases for studies relating to ketogenic or low-carbohydrate diets and psychiatric disorders.

Results: A total of 32 experimental or observational studies were identified by initial search strategies, 14 of which met the criteria to be included in this analysis.

Tumors can undergo long periods of dormancy, with cancer cells entering a largely quiescent, nonproliferative state before reactivation and outgrowth. To understand the role of the extracellular matrix (ECM) in regulating tumor dormancy, we created an in vitro cell culture system with carefully controlled ECM substrates to observe entrance into and exit from dormancy with live imaging. We saw that cell populations capable of surviving entrance into long-term dormancy were heterogeneous, containing quiescent, cell cycle-arrested, and actively proliferating cells.
