Background: Three different histological scores-histopathologic classification (Berden), Renal Risk Score (RRS) and the Mayo Clinic Chronicity Score (MCCS)-for anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA)-associated glomerulonephritis (ANCA-GN) were compared to evaluate their association with patient and kidney prognosis of ANCA-GN.

Methods: Patients aged >18 years with at least 1 year of follow-up and biopsy-proven ANCA-GN entered this retrospective study. Renal biopsies were classified according to Berden's classification, RRS and MCCS.

Background: The aim of our study is to emphasizes the significance of prompt diagnosis and intervention in younger patients affected by osteochondral detachment after patellar dislocation, where the first objective is to minimize in the shortest possible time complications and ingravescence. The method involves a clinical patient assessment and MRI follow-up in subjects who underwent to an immediate surgical intervention for osteochondral damage.

Methods: From January 2020 to December 2022, 22 patellar dislocation cases were assessed; osteochondral lesions were identified in 12 (54%) patients; nine of these patients were treated immediately with knee arthroscopy, while in seven instances the osteochondral fragment was reattached using bioabsorbable pins.

Increased vascular permeability is a prevalent feature in a wide spectrum of clinical conditions, but no effective treatments to restore the endothelial barrier are available. Idiopathic systemic capillary leak syndrome (ISCLS) is a life-threatening Paroxysmal Permeability Disorder characterized by abrupt, massive plasma extravasation. This condition serves as a robust model for investigating therapeutic approaches targeting interendothelial junctions.

Objectives: To evaluate the prevalence, incidence, and predictors of herpes zoster (HZ) development in lupus nephritis (LN).

Methods: This retrospective study included 292 LN patients to determine HZ incidence during the last decades and its correlation with LN activity. LN patients with HZ were matched with LN patients without HZ in a 1:2 ratio based on sex, age, year of LN diagnosis, and LN histological class at kidney biopsy to assess HZ risk factors.

Properly tuning the Fermi level position in topological insulators is of vital importance to tailor their spin-polarized electronic transport and to improve the efficiency of any functional device based on them. Here, we report the full in situ metal organic chemical vapor deposition (MOCVD) and study of a highly crystalline BiTe/SbTe topological insulator heterostructure on top of large area (4″) Si(111) substrates. The bottom SbTe layer serves as an ideal seed layer for the growth of highly crystalline BiTe on top, also inducing a remarkable shift of the Fermi level to place it very close to the Dirac point, as visualized by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
