Choice of extended release medication for OUD in young adults (buprenorphine or naltrexone): A pilot enhancement of the Youth Opioid Recovery Support (YORS) intervention.

Background: The Youth Opioid Recovery Support (YORS) intervention is a promising approach for the treatment of opioid use disorder (OUD) in young adults that seeks to improve adherence to extended-release medications for OUD (XR-MOUD) and reduce opioid relapse through assertive outreach techniques. YORS was previously tested with individuals seeking extended-release naltrexone (XR-NTX), but has not been tested on individuals pursuing extended-release buprenorphine (XR-BUP).

Methods: This pilot study tested the YORS intervention among a group choosing either XR-MOUD compared to historical treatment as usual (H-TAU) and intervention conditions from a previous study.

Long-term Results for the BacJac Interspinous Device in Lumbar Spine Degenerative Disease.

Objective:  To evaluate the long-term results of using the BacJac interspinous device (Pioneer Surgical Technology Inc.) in a series of patients with degenerative lumbar spine disease.

Methods:  Forty-one patients undergoing lumbar surgery with implantation of a BacJac device from 2009 to 2012 were enrolled in the present study.

Despite relevant recommendations and evidences on the efficacy of influenza vaccination in health care workers (HCWs), vaccination coverage rates in Europe and Italy currently do not exceed 25%. Aim of the study is to measure the variations in vaccination coverage rates in an Italian pediatric hospital after a promotion campaign performed in the period October⁻December 2017. The design is a pre-post intervention study.

Extraforaminal Disk Herniation Treatment with Surgical Exploration by Unilateral Intertransversarii Microsurgical Approach.

Background: In this study we evaluated the role of a unilateral intertransversarii microsurgical approach for the treatment of extraforaminal lumbar disk herniations (ELDHs), with short-, medium-, and long-term follow-up.

Methods: We retrospectively evaluated 96 patients who had undergone surgery for ELDH between 2001 and 2012 at our Institution. All the patients had been examined before the intervention, immediately after, and at 6 weeks, 6 months, and 18 months after the intervention.
