Sand and dust storms (SDS) can cause adverse health effects, with the oxidative potential (OP) and environmentally persistent free radicals (EPFRs) inducing oxidative stress. We mapped the OP and EPFRs concentrations at 1735 sites in China during SDS periods using experimental data for 2021-2023 and a random forest model. We examined 855,869 hospitalizations during SDS events for 2015-2022 in Beijing, China.

Here, a targeted long-read sequencing (T-LRS) is demonstrated to capture 20 genes/loci in 1,020 β-thalassemia patients. This panel permits not only identification of thalassemia mutations at 100% of sensitivity and specificity, but also detection of rare structural variants (SVs) and single nucleotide variants (SNVs) in modifier genes/loci.

This work utilized S2-2 and S6-J1 with high TTMP production for fermentation of soybeans to optimize the pre-fermentation process and to evaluate the flavor quality of mature DCB. The concentration of TTMP in DCB fermented by mixed microbial (MG) was 2.

A total of 140 patients with primary hyperthyroidism and different degrees of thyroid enlargements were included who underwent endoscopic surgeries via a trans breast approach in the Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from 2013 to 2023, including 137 females and 3 males, aged from 16 to 49 years old. Thirty-one cases had normal thyroid size, 25 cases had Grade Ⅰ enlargement, 56 cases had Grade Ⅱ enlargement, and 28 cases had Grade Ⅲ enlargement.

Oxidative stress results from an imbalance between the production of free radicals by oxidants and their removal by antioxidants. Chronic oxidative stress is a key factor in inflammation, characterized by hypoxic microenvironments and elevated levels of reactive oxygen species (ROS). Psoriasis, a common chronic inflammatory skin disorder, profoundly impacts the physical and psychological well-being of affected individuals.
