Accurate measurement of a patient's blood pressure (BP) is essential to identify hypotension or hypertension and to inform subsequent management and treatment decisions. The auscultatory, or manual, method remains the gold standard for non-invasive BP measurement, so it is vital that nurses are able to undertake this procedure accurately. This article explains how to take and record a manual BP measurement using an aneroid sphygmomanometer and a stethoscope.

Aim: To establish Infection Prevention Society (IPS) members' research priorities to support future research projects.
Methods: A mixed methods convergent parallel design incorporating a cross-sectional survey of IPS members (2022-2023), and focus group findings from the IPS Consultative Committee, (October 2022).
Background: Adult Day care centres provide an important aspect of care provision through all phases of the dementia illness from diagnosis to the end of life (Dabelko HI 2008) supporting the well-being of both older people living with dementia and their care partners. Services within adult day care settings are designed to provide biopsychosocial health benefits to participants as well as care partner respite.
Objective: To examine research studies, literature reviews and grey literature and identify and map the literature on psychosocial interventions used in day care services for older people living with dementia and chart their use, evaluation and outcomes.
Herein, we report a strategy for the formation of isotopically labeled carboxylic esters from boronic esters/acids using a readily accessible palladium carboxylate complex as an organometallic source of isotopically labeled functional groups. The reaction allows access to either unlabeled or full C- or C-isotopically labeled carboxylic esters, and the method is characterized by its operational simplicity, mild conditions, and general substrate scope. Our protocol is further extended to a carbon isotope replacement strategy, involving an initial decarbonylative borylation procedure.

Background And Objective: The determination of pharmacokinetic properties of new chemical entities is a key step in the process of drug development. Positron emission tomography (PET) is an ideal technique to obtain both biodistribution and pharmacokinetic parameters of new compounds over a wide range of chemical modalities.
