Our research aims to produce qualitative and quantitative analysis of the use of narcotic drugs and psychoactive substances in 2013-2017 and their impact on drug abuse in the country. We studied 1519 medical cards of hospitalized beneficiaries. According to the obtained results, 'pharmacy' drug addiction is still widespread in Georgia.

The use of home-made drugs "Krokodil", "Jeff" and "Vint" produced from the preparations bought without prescriptions (Codeine, Ephedrine), became a special matter of concern. Psychoactive substances became available for teenagers causing damage to their central nervous system and formation of drug-addiction in them.

Liver cirrhosis and hepatocellular carcinoma are the most frequent and severe complications of chronic hepatitis C. Results of recent investigations indicate that HCV persists and replicates not only in hepatic tissue, but in the other organs as well. The goal of our investigation was to determine hematological disorders during chronic HCV and HCV+HBV hepatitis, to find correlation between activity of chronic hepatitis, stage of cirrhosis, and degree of hematological disorders.
