Psychological evaluation of candidates for the uterus transplantation French trial.

Introduction: Since 2017, women with absolute uterine infertility due to Mayer-Rokitansky-Küster-Hauser (MRKH) syndrome have been eligible to participate in a uterine transplantation clinical trial conducted by Foch Hospital in France. The aim of this study is to assess the psychological state of potential candidates, including recipients, their partners, and their living-related donors.

Material And Methods: Sixteen potential uterus transplant candidates, including recipients, partners, and living-related donors, participated in the study.

Transgender Males as Potential Donors for Uterus Transplantation: A Survey.

Uterus transplantation is a new treatment for patients with absolute uterine infertility that is conducted in order to enable them to carry their own pregnancy. One of the limitations for its development is donor availability. Gender-affirming hormone therapy and gender-affirming surgery (GAS) are often inherently part of the gender-affirming process. In this context, we should ask whether it is better to keep or remove the uterus.

Uterus Transplantation with Live Donors: Screening Candidates in One French Center.

We report our experience regarding the profile and screening process of potential recipients (R) and their live donors (D) in our Uterus transplantation (UTx) trial from 2014 to 2020. The initial screening was performed using medical questionnaires and consultations. The second step of the screening consisted of two individual interviews with an independent multidisciplinary committee.
