[On fertility of female population of large-scale industrial agglomeration of cities of the Irkutsk Oblast].

The article considers the most important demographic indicator of natural movement of population - the natality. The dynamics of age-specific fertility of female population residing industrial highly urbanized areas of the region is demonstrated. The increase of total fertility was established.

[Kinetics behavior of isozymes I and II of rat skeletal muscle hexokinase after their binding to mitochondrial membranes].

Hexokinase from rat skeletal muscle hyaloplasm is represented by two isozymic forms I and II. The values of apparent Km (glucose) for these forms were calculated according to the Reiner method. After binding to mitochondrial membranes under effects of Mg2+ the value of V for hexokinase isozyme II is increased 3-fold, while its Km value is decreased 5 times; the properties of isozyme I remain thereby unchanged.

[Changes in the properties of hexokinase from hyaloplasm on binding with mitochondria].

It has been found that adenylic nucleotides at physiological concentrations solubilize mitochondrial hexokinase from muscles. The solubilizing effect of ATP is reversible in the presence of Mg2+ ions. It is shown that Mg2+ and glucose induce the transition of isoenzymes I and II of hexokinase from the free state to the bound one.
