Clinical value of metagenomic sequencing in system evaluation of potential donors and donor-derived infection in kidney transplantation.

Objective: To explore the application and the clinical value of metagenomic sequencing in system evaluation of potential kidney donors, along with donor-derived infection in kidney transplantation.

Methods: A prospective study was conducted on 40 voluntary renal donors in Ningbo Urology and Kidney Disease hospital from January 2021 to August 2023. The results of donor pathogen fed back by metagenomic sequencing were analyzed to understand the clinical significance of metagenomic sequencing in donor evaluation.

Intratonsillar Immunotherapy: A Convenient and Effective Alternative to Subcutaneous Immunotherapy for Allergic Rhinitis.

Allergen-specific immunotherapy (AIT) is the only treatment that addresses the root cause of immunoglobulin E (IgE)-mediated allergies, but conventional methods face challenges with treatment duration, patient compliance, and adverse effects. In this study, we propose intratonsillar immunotherapy (ITIT) as a new effective and safer route for AIT. Prior to clinical trials, we analyzed tonsil samples from human subjects to assess immune responses, measuring interleukin-4 (IL-4), IL-21, total IgE (tIgE), and allergen-specific IgE concentrations using ELISA and BioIC.

Nomogram for predicting proliferative lupus nephritis in patients with low-level proteinuria.

Objectives: Proliferative lupus nephritis (LN) is not uncommon in individuals with proteinuria < 0.5 g/24h, highlighting the importance of predicting proliferative nephritis for effective clinical management. We aimed to develop a predictive model for proliferative nephritis in this population.
