Anti-seizure medications and deep brain stimulation are widely used therapies to treat seizures; however, both face limitations such as resistance and the unpredictable nature of seizures. Recent advancements, including responsive neural stimulation and on-demand drug release, have been developed to address these challenges. However, a gap remains, as electrical stimulation provides only transient effects while medication has a delayed onset.

Plant lipid transfer proteins (LTPs) are distinguished by their capacity to facilitate lipid transport in vitro between membranes. This includes the transportation of lipid constituents from the tapetum to the microspore, thereby playing a pivotal role in the synthesis and construction of the pollen wall, encompassing the formation of the pollen aperture. However, our understanding of LTPs and their role in pollen aperture formation in rice remains limited.

The copper-based materials were considered as promising catalysts for the activation of peroxydisulfate (PDS), but the study on the CuS-activated PDS under LED illumination and alkaline condition was little reported. In this work, CuS, a simple and readily available heterogeneous catalyst, was employed to enhance the activation of PDS under alkaline condition through LED illumination. The results indicated that under LED illumination, the degradation rate of tetracycline (TC) during the first 15 min was 3.

Soluble cytotoxic oligomers produced during the fibrillation of both α-synuclein (αS) and amyloid-β protein (Aβ) are key pathogenic factors in Parkinson's disease (PD) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). Reducing toxic oligomers by regulating the aggregation process of αS and Aβ is an important strategy for the treatment of PD and AD. Herein, tetrahydrofolic acid (THF) is found to accelerate amyloid fibrillization, decreases cytotoxic oligomers and suppresses their toxicity.
