This paper examines the rhetorical strategies used by stroke survivors to attend to identity aloneness, a phenomenon in which individuals experience a sense of disconnect from others as a consequence of identity change, for which stroke is known as an antecedent. Three stroke survivors, and their spouses, were interviewed about their stroke, social support, and experiences with loneliness and identity change. The data was transcribed using a simplified version of the Jeffersonian method and analysed using a critical discursive psychological approach.

The protein kinase Mechanistic Target of Rapamycin (mTOR) in Complex 1 (mTORC1) is regulated in part by the Ras-related GTP-binding proteins (Rag GTPases). Rag GTPases form a heterodimeric complex consisting of either RagA or RagB associated with either RagC or RagD and act to localize mTORC1 to the lysosomal membrane. Until recently, RagA and RagB were thought to be functionally redundant, as were RagC and RagD.

Background: Mutations are found in 10-20% of idiopathic PAH (IPAH) patients, but none are consistently identified in connective tissue disease-associated PAH (APAH), which accounts for ∼45% of PAH cases. mutations, a cause of clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminant potential (CHIP), predispose to an inflammatory type of PAH. We now examine mutations in another CHIP gene, , in PAH.
