Purpose: To understand diversity, inclusion, and capacity of genetic counselors (GCs) in Australasia (Australia and New Zealand).
Methods: Individuals with or working toward a GC qualification in Australasia were invited to complete an online survey, between November 2022 and March 2023. Quantitative data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, 1-sample proportion -tests, 2-sample -tests, and χ tests.
Within veterinary medical education, there is increasing focus on equity and cultural competency/humility, especially within service learning in community and shelter medicine. This article reviews the current literature and draws from the experience of the Ontario Veterinary College Community Healthcare Partnership Program's development of a community and shelter medicine curriculum. We propose that to graduate veterinarians with the knowledge and skills to address inequities in access to veterinary care, a best practice is to integrate mandatory in-class and experiential learning activities, scaffolded across the curriculum.

This study investigated how genome editors and policymakers perceived ethical or policy benefits and drawbacks for animal enhancement and how perceived benefits and drawbacks are alike, or differ from, those for human genome editing.
Methods: We identified scientists through relevant literature searches as well as conference presentations.
Disulfide bond (Dsb) oxidoreductases involved in oxidative protein folding govern bacterial survival and virulence. Over the past decade, oligomerization has emerged as a potential factor that dictates oxidoreductase activities. To investigate the role of oligomerization, we studied three Dsb-like ScsC oxidoreductases involved in copper resistance: the monomeric StScsC, and the trimeric PmScsC and CcScsC.
