Objectives: Healthcare providers with low patient experience scores may provide suboptimal care and experience burnout. Communication skills training (CST) can be effective, but remedial programs may be poorly received. We aimed to create a program to support advanced practice providers (APPs) with lowest patient experience ratings.

Anthropogenic sources of selenium (Se), including coal mining, can release Se to the environment and raise Se concentrations in receiving waters above drinking water and aquatic limits. Selenium bioreduction can be an important control to reduce dissolved selenate concentrations. This extensive study investigated the application of Se stable isotope ratios (δSe) of dissolved selenate to identify Se bioreduction in saturated and unsaturated mine rock piles (MRPs) located in the Elk Valley, Canada.

Many phenotypic traits have a polygenic genetic basis, making it challenging to learn their genetic architectures and predict individual phenotypes. One promising avenue to resolve the genetic basis of complex traits is through evolve-and-resequence (E&R) experiments, in which laboratory populations are exposed to some selective pressure and trait-contributing loci are identified by extreme frequency changes over the course of the experiment. However, small laboratory populations will experience substantial random genetic drift, and it is difficult to determine whether selection played a role in a given allele frequency change (AFC).

Article Synopsis
  • Idiopathic granulomatous mastitis is a rare and chronic breast inflammation that can resemble breast cancer, with its cause often unknown.
  • The case discusses a 66-year-old woman who had an initial benign biopsy of her left breast, which later developed a hematoma but appeared stable for a year.
