Background: Vector control using insecticides is a key prevention strategy against malaria. Unfortunately, insecticide resistance in mosquitoes threatens all progress in malaria control. Introduction: Dry eye disease (DED) can be evaluated clinically by the tear film break up time (BUT). There is a discrepancy between symptoms in relationship with dry eye disease and objectives measures of BUT. So we tried to evaluate the reliability of BUT in the diagnosis and treatment of this disease in black African people.

Acute Onset Vascular Dementia with Bi-Thalamic Infarct in an HIV-Positive Subject.

BACKGROUND Bi-thalamic infarctions are rare and marked by clinical polymorphism. Their association with HIV has never been reported. CASE REPORT We report a 51-year-old right-handed man with no medical history, who presented an acute onset vascular dementia associated with an antero-retrograde amnesia, a word-finding difficulty, and a dysexecutive syndrome.
