Potassium Persulfate Promoted the One-Pot and Selective -Functionalization of Pyrazoles under Acidic Conditions.

Our research presents selective direct selenylation at the C-4 pyrazole ring using KSO as an oxidant under simple and mild conditions. This elegant synthesis involves the one-pot method under acidic conditions, thus minimizing reaction steps and waste generation. This innovative method allowed us to create a library of 4-selanylpyrazoles in good to excellent yields.

In vitro evaluation of the antimicrobial effect of ZnO:9Ag nanoparticle and antibiotics on standard strains of Leptospira spp.

Silver nanoparticles are recognized for potent antimicrobial properties against pathogenic bacteria, crucial in addressing the severity of leptospirosis, where an ideal treatment is lacking. This study focuses on assessing the antimicrobial efficacy of silver-doped zinc oxide nanoparticles (ZnO:9Ag) on standard Leptospira spp. strains (six species and ten serovars).

Conservation challenges for Brazilian primates and the role of protected areas in a changing climate.

The negative effects of land-use changes on biodiversity significantly contribute to climate change. Primates are among the animals most affected by these changes, because of their high dependence on forest cover where a lack of forest connectivity can limit their dispersal and segregate their populations. In this sense, protected areas (PAs) are crucial for conserving endangered primates, especially endemic species.

Short-Term Effectiveness of a Stepped-Care Model to Address Fear of Cancer Recurrence in Patients With Early-Stage Melanoma.

Objective: To investigate the effectiveness of the Melanoma Care Programme when implemented into routine clinical practice coupled with fear of cancer recurrence (FCR) screening and a stepped-care model of intervention delivery.

Methods: Using a Type-I hybrid effectiveness-implementation design, individuals with stage 0-II melanoma and a Fear of Cancer Recurrence Inventory FCR severity score of ≥ 13 were offered the Melanoma Care Programme. The programme included a psychoeducational booklet and 3 to 5 psychotherapeutic telehealth sessions with a clinical psychologist, timed around routine dermatological appointments.

Recurrent neurogenic shock as a rare postoperative complication associated with pancreaticoduodenectomy with mesopancreas excision in elderly patient: a case report.

Background: Surgical resection of locally advanced or borderline pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma is a recognized procedure with curative intent performed in specialized oncology centers. Postoperative dysautonomia such as gastroparesis, mild hypotension, and diarrhea are common in elderly patients undergoing pancreaticoduodenectomy. A distinctive feature of our case, is the severing of an important sympathetic chain by the surgical procedure, leading to recurrent severe neurogenic shock.
