Background: The Harderian gland in domestic birds is a major paraocular excretory gland that has an important role in tear production as well as in the immune protection of the conjunctiva surface.
Aim: The aim of this research was to investigate the arterial and venous supply of the gland in hens and provide valuable and useful information for future research.
Methods: The research was conducted on 26 adult hens, provenience of Lohmann Brown.
Various factors can affect the survival of patients with oropharyngeal cancer. We assessed the expression of protein p16INK4a, Flotillin2, epidermal growth factor receptor, and other clinicopathological features and their prognostic value for this type of cancer. We gathered patient data on demographics, clinicopathological characteristics, treatment patterns, and outcomes.

Throughout this study, each oxime in a dose of 0.1 of LD/kg im was given 2x/week for 4 weeks.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTakotsubo syndrome (TTS) is a stress-induced cardiomyopathy, characterized by an increased concentration of catecholamines, free radicals, and inflammatory cytokines, endothelial dysfunction, and increased apoptotic activity. High doses of isoprenaline are used in animal models to induce Takotsubo (TT)-like myocardial injury. The aim of the study was to investigate the antiapoptotic effects of liraglutide in experimental TTS and its role in the NF-κB pathway.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFBacterial lipopolysaccharide (LPS) induces general inflammation, by activating pathways involving cytokine production, blood coagulation, complement system activation, and acute phase protein release. The key cellular players are leukocytes and endothelial cells, that lead to tissue injury and organ failure. The aim of this study was to explore the anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and cytoprotective properties of two bile acids, ursodeoxycholic acid (UDCA) and chenodeoxycholic acid (CDCA) in LPS-induced endotoxemia in rats.
