Purpose: Urinary tract malformations have been described in up to 50% of patients with imperforate anus but genital anomalies have been less well analyzed in the same patient population. We sought to evaluate the frequency of coexisting genital, urinary and spinal malformations in a population with imperforate anus.

Materials And Methods: We reviewed 128 cases of imperforate anus, focusing on genital malformations and their relationship to anomalies of the urinary tract and spine.

Purpose: We examined further whether the injury or method of management is responsible for impotence and incontinence after immediate realignment of prostato-membranous urethral disruptions.

Materials And Methods: A total of 20 patients with complete urethral disruptions treated with immediate realignment (group 1) was compared to 12 with partial or complete injuries treated with retrograde catheterization alone (group 2). Followup status was obtained by patient questionnaire or telephone interview.

Neurologic disorders create important functional urinary tract abnormalities. Loss of bladder reflex inhibition and coordination due to neurologic disease or injury to higher centers may lead to morbidity such as recurrent urinary tract infection, hydronephrosis, urinary tract stones and loss of renal function. Objectives: Ureteral injury is rare after blunt trauma. Herein is presented this unusual scenario of ureteral trauma in addition to the pathophysiology of this injury.
