Some hypophyseal adenomas are discrete, well-marked lesions, which can be curatively removed by surgical resection, while others seem aggressive, invasive, recidive-prone, most often progressing in spite of any pharmacological, surgical or radiotherapeutical interventions. There is also a great variability within the incidence of aggression and invasion among the various types of hypophyseal immunotypes. Despite their well-differentiated nature and their "benign" constitution, an important number of hypophyseal tumors will be surely invasive within the sclerous, osseous and neural structures.

Purpose: The data currently available concerning total ankle arthroplasty (TAA) does not allow valid conclusions in several clinically relevant areas. Total ankle arthroplasty imposes special requirements on the methodology of data collection, evaluation, publication and the assessment of register data.

Introduction: The goal of the Quality of Literature in Arthroplasty (QoLA) project launched in 2009 was to compare the implant results from clinical studies published in indexed scientific journals with those found in reference national registers. The potential biases in the chosen articles (country of origin, inventor involved in study, methodological quality) were systematically analyzed and the revisions per 100 observed component years (Revp100OCY) index was calculated. For a given implant, a differential factor greater than 3 between the Revp100OCY index for published series and the one from registers was considered as indicative of a potential selection (inventor) or publication (conflict of interest) bias.
