Article Synopsis
  • The study investigates how Weitiao No. 3 (WD-3) affects the efficacy of anti-PD-1 immunotherapy in gastric cancer by analyzing the gut microbiota of healthy individuals, gastric cancer patients, and those treated with WD-3.
  • It found significant differences in gut bacteria compositions across the groups, highlighting a decrease in beneficial bacteria and an increase in those associated with treatment.
  • Moreover, both WD-3 and anti-PD-1 treatments enhanced T-cell responses while reducing regulatory T cells, leading to inhibited tumor cell growth and increased apoptosis in gastric cancer models.

Studying the seed trait-stem trait-individual spatial pattern system is helpful for understanding the developmental direction of plant dynamics and populations under grazing disturbance as well as the antagonistic relationship between animals and plants, but few systematic analyses of this spatial pattern system have been carried out. is the dominant species in alpine grasslands. We studied seed traits and their relationship with reproductive individuals, the relationship between reproductive and vegetative stems, and the weights and spatial patterns of reproductive and nonreproductive individuals under four grazing treatments: no grazing (control), light grazing, moderate grazing and heavy grazing.

Sirtuin 3 (SIRT3) is reported to be closely relevant to the pathogenesis of psoriasis, but its detailed functions and molecular mechanisms have not been fully studied. Thus, this study aimed to investigate the effects and underlying mechanisms by which SIRT3 regulated the development of psoriasis. Specifically, we verified that SIRT3 was aberrantly downregulated in psoriasis-like skin tissues in mice models in vivo and TNF-α-stimulated HaCaT cells in vitro, compared to their corresponding normal counterparts.

Background: Paraquat (PQ) poisoning is a lethal toxicological challenge that served as a disease model of acute lung injury and pulmonary fibrosis, but the mechanism is undetermined and no effective treatment has been discovered.

Methods And Findings: We demonstrated that PQ injures mitochondria and leads to mtDNA release. The mtDNA mediated PBMC recruitment and stimulated the alveolar epithelial cell production of TGF-β1 in vitro.

Diabetic retinopathy is one of the common complications of diabetes and is the leading cause for patients' visual dysfunction and sight loss. However, the mechanism of diabetic retinopathy is not clearly defined. The present study was undertaken to investigate neuroretinal apoptosis in different stages in a mouse model for type 2 diabetes mellitus and the mechanism of diabetic retinopathy.
