Comparative evaluation of risk for operators in various technologies using fipronil-containing pesticides.

The authors presented results of hygienic evaluation of various techonologies connected with use of fipronil-based insecticides. Findings are allowable risk of fipronil exposure in workers, if technologic regulations and safety rules met. Exceeded allowable risk in some technologies is due to technologic process features, outdated equipment and poor efficiency of individual protective means - that requires management decisions.

Application of modern technologies and pesticides for preplanting treatment of planting material guarantees minimal risk of hazardous influence on workers with strict compliance with technologic regulations (preparation and working solution consumption, normalized technique, etc) and safety requirements (usage of recommended individual protection means, timely cleansing of equipment, etc).

[Occupational hygiene and health status in welders of laser devices].

Welders-assemblers of the Quant-type laser devices are exposed to bright light flashes of plasma and laser exceeding in certain measurements the maximal allowed level. Such hazards induce disorders in eyes, autonomic nervous, circulatory and immune systems of workers. Impaired humoral immunity can lead to increased incidence of acute respiratory tract diseases.
