Developmental, genetic and environmental variations of global DNA methylation in the first leaves emerging from the shoot apical meristem in poplar trees.

In the context of climate changes, clarifying the causes underlying tree phenotypic plasticity and adaptation is crucial. Studies suggest a role of epigenetic mechanisms in response to external stimuli, raising the question whether such processes can promote acclimation of trees exposed to adverse climate conditions. Recently, we revealed an environmental epigenetic footprint in the shoot apical meristem (SAM) which could partially be transmitted mitotically, for several months, up until the winter-dormant bud in field conditions.

The evaluation of preoperative and postoperative fetuin-A levels in patients with primary hyperparathyroidism.

Objectives: Our objective was to evaluate preoperative and postoperative serum fetuin-A levels in female patients with primary hyperparathyroidism (PHPT) and search for the relationship with parathyroid hormone (PTH) and vitamin D (25OHD). Although a role for fetuin-A is suggested in regulating bone mineralization, its function has not been completely defined.

Materials And Methods: In this cross-sectional study, 43 female patients with PHPT and 30 healthy women were recruited as the control group.

[Absorption and Distribution of Nitrogen,Phosphorus and Potassium in Atractylodes macrocephala].

Objective: To investigate the absorption and distribution of nitrogen（ N ), phosphorus（ P） and potassium（ K） in Atractylodes macrocephala by field experiment.

Methods: The samples of Atractylodes macrocephala were carried out in different growing periods,and the amount of dry matter and the contents of N,P and K in different parts of the plant were determined,respectively.

Results: The results showed that one-year-old Atractylodes macrocephala of budding stage and rhizome swelling stage were the key period of rapid nutrient absorption, and the absorbed nutrient element mainly allocated to the aerial part.

Late complication due to placenta increta left in situ and management options.

With the rising incidence of caesarean sections, the number of cases of placenta praevia and morbidly adherent placenta is increasing. Antenatal diagnosis and management in a tertiary care centre helps to reduce maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality. We present a patient in whom the antenatal diagnosis of morbidly adherent placenta was missed due to late booking.
