The aqueous catalyst-free one-pot Passerini 3-component reaction (P-3CR) was employed for the functionalization of dialdehyde cellulose (DAC) derived from the periodate oxidation of microfibrillated cellulose (MFC) with insights provided by C and N CP-MAS NMR and FTIR analyses. The kinetics of the P-3CR revealed rapid progress within the initial 2 h, reaching a plateau between 6 and 18 h. The reaction achieved a maximum degree of substitution (DS) with only 1 equivalent of carboxylic acid and isocyanide with respect to the number of aldehydes, therefore demonstrating the atom economy character of the P-3CR performed on MFC.

When they are suspended in apolar solvents such as toluene using surfactants, the application of an AC electric field leads to the reorientation and then distortion of the cholesteric order until the cholesteric structure completely unwinds into a nematic-like order, typically above 0.4-0.

The current overview provides an interdisciplinary synthesis of autobiographical and collective memory studies, focusing on history and cognitive psychology, to help other scholars bridge the disciplinary gap. We describe the various interpretative frameworks used to build theoretical knowledge on how autobiographical memory and collective memory are intertwined. We expose how research exploring self, social and directive functions of autobiographical memory echoes three main functions that can be identified for collective memory, that is, social identity, social schemata, and means for actions, or a political decision tool of research in these fields.

Mimicking this wall is a critical step in the conception of an experimental model of the plant cell. The assembly of cellulose/hemicellulose in the form of cellulose nanocrystals and xyloglucans as a representative model of the plant cell wall has already been mastered; however, these models lacked the pectin component.

Between early April and late June 2020, we asked over 4,000 individuals from 15 countries across four continents to report on remarkable (a) national and (b) global events that (i) had happened since the first cases of COVID-19 were reported, and (ii) they expected to happen in the future. Whereas themes of infections, lockdown, and politics dominated global and national past events in most countries, themes of economy, a second wave, and lockdown dominated future events.
