The collaboration includes clinical research and opportunities for training residents and medical students. University faculty provide clinical and administrative leadership at all levels of the hospital's organization.

The complications of water intoxication are well documented in the medical literature. Less well appreciated is the frequent appearance of self-induced water intoxication in patients with schizophrenic disorders. Six such patients are described and compared with the findings in the literature.

The vitamin E status of 88 adolescent girls living in the western Virginia area was measured. About 12% of the subjects had marginal to low vitamin E status, as indicated by plasma total tocopherol levels. Approximately 12% reported consuming less than two-thirds of the RDA for vitamin E.

While Satz's Block Rotation Test has shown promise in its ability to detect brain dysfunction, its factorial and psychometric properties have not been investigated extensively. This study investigated the factor structure of the test across two different S groups. In addition, internal reliability and discrimination between patient groups with and without neurological impairment was assessed.

The simple detection of colored stimuli in the right, center, and left visual fields was examined. 10 male subjects were used in a reaction time paradigm with color (red, green, or blue), field, and hand as independent variables. A significantly faster RT to stimuli presented in the left visual field was observed, and further the left visual field-left hand combination was the fastest of all the combinations of visual-field x hand.
