Aims: Aberrantly expressed MPHOSPH9 has been reported to be associated with poor prognosis in many diseases. Previous study indicates that MPHOSPH9 is abnormally expressed in patients with uterine fibroids (UFs). This study focused on the possible prognostic value of MPHOSPH9 in UFs patients after high intensity focused ultrasound (HIFU) treatment.

Cell cycle checkpoints are the regulatory mechanisms that secure the strict order of cellular events for cell division that ensure genome integrity. It has been proposed that mitosis initiation depends on the completion of DNA replication, which must be tightly controlled to guarantee genome duplication. Contrary to these conventional hypotheses, we showed here that cells were able to enter mitosis without completion of DNA replication.

Background: Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a complex metabolic disease that has short-term and long-term adverse effects on mothers and infants. However, the specific pathogenic mechanism has not been elucidated.

Objective: The aim of this study was to confirm the associations between candidate genetic variants (rs4134819, rs720918, rs2034410, rs11109509, and rs12524768) and GDM risk and prediction in a southern Chinese population.

Ants as social insects live in groups, which increases the risk of contagious diseases. In response to the threat of pathogens, ants have evolved a variety of defense mechanisms, including incorporating antimicrobial chemicals into nest material for nest hygiene. is an arboreal ant, building its nest using plant tissues.

NLRP3 inflammasome activation is pivotal for cytokine secretion and pyroptosis in response to diverse stimuli, playing a crucial role in innate immunity. While extensively studied in mammals, the regulatory mechanisms governing NLRP3 activation in non-mammalian vertebrates remain largely unexplored. Teleosts, as basal vertebrates, represent an ideal model for exploring the evolutionary trajectory of inflammasome regulation.
